In other news, the Pope is retiring! I was surprised, just like everyone else in the Catholic universe. I feel a mixture of sadness and gladness. Sadness for his departure, since Papa Ben has been such a wonderful Vicar of Christ. And yet, I am glad for his sake, as the poor man is certainly elderly and was ready to retire before he even got the big job. He wanted to live out his days as a scholarly librarian! Poor chap. But he has done wonderful things for the Church, and as he leaves he is showing us a great example of humility. Knowing one's limits, and when to step down and say, "I can't".
